Job Description & How to Apply Below
A day in the field
By 7:00 AM, you’re loading your company vehicle with the right tools, PPE, and parts. You head to your first site to troubleshoot a rolling steel door that won’t cycle. After precise diagnostics, you replace damaged hinges, test the limits on the operator, and verify safety sensors. Midday, you configure a new closer, rekey a storefront lockset, and fine-tune an access control reader.
The afternoon brings a dock leveler adjustment and quality check. You finish the day by documenting work performed, walking the customer through findings, and proposing cost‐effective options for long‑term reliability—all while meeting code and safety standards.
What you’ll handle
Install, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of commercial doors, dock equipment, and related hardware using appropriate tools and methods.
Diagnose and complete routine and complex repairs—springs, hinges, locks, operators, and low‑voltage/electrical components. Interested in welding? We’ll train.
Install and configure locks, handles, closers, low‑voltage wiring, and access control devices.
Verify compliance with safety guidelines and building codes on every job.
Deliver clear, courteous communication—explain findings, set expectations, and offer practical solutions.
Maintain accurate service notes, repair logs, and installation records.
Perform thorough quality checks to uphold Vortex’s unsurpassed standards.
