Qualifications- Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification (Emotionally Impaired - SE certification or Adaptive Physical Education)
- Physical Education & Health (MB & MA or MX)
- Must meet North Central requirements for the position
- Experience in a center based program preferred
- Experience working with students with Emotional Impairments preferred
- Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
- A minimum of 5 years classroom teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of or strong interest in Physical Education programs
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
- Implement and maintain a Physical Education program for ongoing curriculum and instructional improvement
- Deliver Physical Education oriented instruction
- Provide motivation for students to learn and engage in the Physical Education curriculum
- Demonstrate research-based instructional techniques along with classroom management skills
- Provide formative assessment and technology integration at a high level
- Provide differentiated instruction
- Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Use appropriate technology tools
- Utilize a rich array of instructional methods, analyze data and use technology to improve instruction, and build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively
- Provide instruction that supports the student skill building needed to meet the State Benchmarks
- Implement trauma-informed/resiliency-based strategies and interventions
- Implement building-wide PBIS
- Maintain compliance with special education timelines and required paperwork and documentation
- Possess skills to communicate to all members of the school and community
- Maintain a philosophy in accord with the Lincoln Park Public Schools
- Follow direction of administrators
- Provide classroom instruction and maintain appropriate records
- Meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and the position
