Quality Inspector- steel manufacturing

Job Description

The Quality Inspector position is responsible for the measurement and approval of welded fixtures used in the manufacturing of steel shipping containers and racks.

Duties:

• Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
• Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
• Document inspection results
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and company procedures
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Provide manufacturing support as required
• Help maintain a clean working environment

Abilities and Skills:

• Must have blueprint reading skills
• Must have excellent measuring skills using tape measure, calipers, etc.
• Must have a working knowledge of manufacturing welded steel products
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently
• Must use Personal Protective Equipment required for Quality Inspectors
• Must be able to stand continuously for long periods of time
• Willing to work in excess of 40 hours a week
