Gallery 120 at Inver Hills Community College is seeking proposals for an exhibition that centers fiber traditions alongside installation, sound, and/or video work. We are especially interested in projects that treat fiber as both a material and a way of thinking—connected to process, labor, care, and lived experience.

The exhibition welcomes interdisciplinary approaches that combine textiles, soft sculpture, installation, sound, and/or moving image—work that actively engages the gallery space. Work may explore any themes, as the primary focus of this exhibition is on material, process, and spatial engagement rather than subject matter.

Gallery Information
  • Gallery dimensions: approximately 17 ft × 15 ft
  • The gallery can accommodate suspended and ceiling‑hung work
  • Selected artists may be contacted to discuss spatial, structural, or technical considerations
  • We do not sell work on behalf of the artist(s) but are happy to direct visitors to the artist if there are inquiries
Eligibility & Mediums

Open to all artists.

  • All fiber‑based and fiber‑adjacent mediums are welcome, including but not limited to fiber, textiles, yarn, weaving, tufting, soft sculpture, installation, mixed media, photography, video, digital components, and interdisciplinary approaches.
  • Artists working across material traditions or hybrid practices are encouraged to apply.
Fees & Support
  • No entry fee
  • No stipends or honorariums are available at this time
  • Artists are responsible for delivery, installation (in coordination with the gallery), and retrieval of their artwork
  • Note:

We may not hold a formal opening reception, but artists are welcome to invite friends, family, and community to campus to view the space during open hours
Application Requirements
  • Exhibition Proposal (1–2 pages outlining the concept, materials, spatial needs, and how the work functions as a solo, duo, or three‑person exhibition)
  • Artist Statement
  • Artist CV or Resume
  • Images or videos of a cohesive body of work (3–10 images) – include title, medium, dimensions, and year for each piece
