Overview
Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the Street Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the daily operations and long-term maintenance of the City’s street, sidewalk, trail, and right-of-way infrastructure. This position oversees street maintenance and central equipment (staff, equipment, materials, and contracted services) to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of services. This position also oversees the City’s Central Equipment (fleet management) division, working closely with the Lead Mechanic in the maintenance and replacement of all City fleet vehicles and equipment.
The Superintendent plays a critical leadership role in winter maintenance operations, pavement preservation programs, asset management, and coordination with other departments, utilities, contractors, and regional agencies.
