Retail Inventory Internship

Gertens Family of Businesses offers an exciting hands-on opportunity with our Location Operations team! Get ready to gain valuable retail operations experience, work with fresh product, and help keep our offsite locations stocked, organized, and ready for customers.

Location:

Gertens Retail Store – Inver Grove Heights, MN

Duration:
May – August 2027

Schedule:

Up to 40 hours/week

• Inspect fresh product displays for quality and remaining inventory
• Complete replenishment checklists according to established timelines and procedures
• Call for and coordinate product replenishment from the distribution center
• Remove defective or expired products from displays and arrange for return or disposal
• Assist customers and sales associates with questions about available products
• Direct customers to appropriate sales associates for detailed product information
• Use inventory control software to record and track information as needed
• Assist managers and associates with inventory accuracy and theft prevention
• Safely lift and move products while following established safety procedures
• Communicate inventory or operational issues promptly to inventory or store managers

• High school diploma or equivalent-candidates must be 18 years of age.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret internal operations paperwork
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Familiarity with a variety of company products
• Ability to follow proper safety procedures
• Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
• Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Able to frequently stand, move, reach, and lift up to 50+ lbs
