Gertens Family of Businesses offers an exciting hands-on internship with our Nursery Production team! Get ready to dig in, learn practical horticulture skills, and work alongside industry professionals.
Location:
Inver Grove Heights, MN
Duration:
May – August 2027
Schedule:
Up to 40 hours/week
- Assist Nursery Production and Growers with trimming, staking, and spacing
- Inspect for pests and assist with pesticide applications
- Manage water sources and help maintain plant health
- Support grading of inventory
- Collaborate with senior staff on seasonal nursery tasks
- Complete an individual intern project and present your results
- Plant care techniques and pest management
- Irrigation and inventory management
- Team collaboration and mentorship
- Project development and presentation skills
- Students in Horticulture, Biology, Natural Resources, Plant Science, Soil Science, Crop Science, Environmental Science, or related fields
- Freshman through senior students enrolled in University
- Creative, motivated, and excited to learn
