Maintenance Fitter Invergordon, Scotland Salary: c45,205 + Overtime

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Fitter on behalf of a leading, well-established timber processing group operating across Ireland and the UK, based at their site in Invergordon.

As part of the Maintenance team, you will ensure quality workmanship is delivered across all site equipment and machinery, within the demanding constraints of minimising downtime and maximising production, while working closely as part of a team.

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing and developing preventative maintenance regimes covering hydraulic and mechanical equipment across the site
  • Repairing and rebuilding hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Welding, cutting and grinding as required
  • Repairing and building pumps and gearboxes
  • Carrying out chipper knife changes where necessary
  • Using risk assessments and safe systems of work for the execution of all tasks
  • Promoting health and safety awareness among employees and contractors
  • Working flexibly across a rotating day/night shift pattern as part of a team
  • Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • A time-served Maintenance Fitter qualification, or relevant mechanical experience gained in an industrial environment
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for fault-finding, installation and repairs
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems

    Welding, grinding and cutting experience
  • Knowledge of bearings, belts, chains, pumps and gearboxes
  • Good computer literacy
  • Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends

Week 1:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Dayshift) – 6.45am to 6.45pm

Week 2:
Wednesday, Thursday (Dayshift) – 6.45am to 6.45pm

Week 3:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Night shift) – 6.45am to 6.45pm

Week 4:
Wednesday, Thursday (Night shift) – 6.45am to 6.45pm

rotating day/night shift pattern (6.45am to 6.45pm). The package on offer includes a competitive salary depending on experience, plus company benefits including pension and holidays.
