Description of DutiesWith direction assists full-time staff with clerical duties of a diversified nature. Handles box office functions, ticket sales, concessions, general cleaning duties, and technical aspects of backstage functions (lighting, sound and monitor production). Files and maintains records in accordance with appropriate office practices. Possesses good public speaking listening effectively and respond clearly and directly.
Essential Job Functions- Assist with daily operations of Valerie Theatre, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Assist with box office operation(s), and conduct ticket and concession sales.
- Ability to communicate with general public and patrons in a professional manner.
- Ability to perform power-on and shut down procedures for all lighting, sound and video equipment.
- Assist in all event set-up, tear down, load-in, load-out and clean up processes.
- Conduct general cleaning of Theatre, maintaining cleanliness and appearance, for a consistent "patron ready" environment.
- Assist in assuring that all patrons have a successful and memorable experience at every event.
- Knowledge of office procedures, practices, arithmetic, spelling, grammar, sentence structure, typing, and letter writing.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to type and use standard office equipment, including a computer, specifically PC, printer, scanner and navigation of software/programs (Word, Outlook, Internet, etc.).
- Ability to read, write, and produce accurately typed memorandums and data entry.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers and general public.
- Experience with customer service principals.
- Graduation from high school or possession of an accredited equivalency diploma.
- In addition, experience in a theater setting is preferred, but not required.
- Walking, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing ladders up to 14 feet.
