The Ecologist will be responsible for providing practical ecological advice and support across the project, including:

Undertaking and supporting ecological surveys and assessments.

Monitoring ecological works and construction activities.

Providing advice on protected species and habitats.

Supporting the implementation of mitigation and environmental management measures.

Working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and environmental specialists.

Contributing to ecological reporting, documentation and regulatory compliance.

Identifying environmental risks and providing practical solutions to minimise impacts.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline, together with practical experience in ecological consultancy, construction or infrastructure projects. A strong understanding of Scottish ecology, protected species legislation and ecological best practice would be advantageous. Good communication skills, a practical approach and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders are essential.
