We're looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Service Technician to join our team and begin an exciting career in the automotive industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn a wage whilst gaining valuable workplace experience and nationally recognised qualifications.
No experience is required – just a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and an interest in vehicles.
What You'll Be Doing- Service and maintain vehicles to manufacturer standards
- Identify and diagnose basic faults
- Remove, replace and refit vehicle components
- Use specialist tools, equipment and diagnostic systems
- Work safely and effectively in a busy workshop environment
- Work as part of a skilled and supportive team
This apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Moray Firth Training and leads to a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 2 (SCQF Level
5).
During the first two years, you'll attend Moray Firth Training for six one‑week training blocks each year, where you'll develop both your practical skills and technical knowledge.
Your third year will be spent primarily in the workplace, building a portfolio of evidence and demonstrating your competence through practical assessments and workplace observations.
What Is a Modern Apprenticeship?A Modern Apprenticeship combines real work experience with recognised qualifications and industry training.
You’ll earn a wage from day one whilst learning valuable skills that will help you build a successful career. This is more than just a job—it’s the first step towards becoming a qualified technician and developing a long‑term career within the industry.
Successful apprentices are expected to continue their training and development beyond their initial qualification, opening up further opportunities for progression and specialisation.
What We're Looking For- Enjoy practical, hands‑on work
- Have an interest in vehicles, mechanics or engineering
- Like solving problems and figuring out how things work
- Work well as part of a team
- Are reliable, motivated and eager to learn
- Ideally, you’ll have completed at least four years of secondary education, with subjects such as Science, Technical Studies, Engineering or Practical Craft Skills being advantageous.
