At Mac Gregor Industrial Supplies, we don’t just supply equipment - we keep businesses running. From plant and ground care machinery to hire equipment, reliability matters. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a hands-on, skilled Plant & Hire Equipment Technician to join our Inverness team, playing a key role in keeping our hire fleet safe, maintained, and ready when our customers need it most.

You’ll be at the heart of our operation - making sure equipment is serviced, repaired, and ready to go.

• Servicing, maintaining and preparing plant and hire equipment
• Inspecting, testing and repairing returned hire equipment
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs
• Completing pre-hire and post-hire inspections to ensure safety standards are met
• Working closely with the Parts team to source required components
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
• Setting up and operating equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Accurately completing job records, service sheets and timesheets
• Ensuring equipment is cleaned, checked and ready for the next hire
• Supporting the wider team to maximise equipment availability
• Participating in a 1 in 4 weekend on-call rota to support customer needs

We’re looking for someone practical, reliable and proud of the work they do. You’ll ideally have :

• Experience as a plant technician, mechanical technician, agricultural mechanic, small engine mechanic or similar
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• A high level of attention to detail and quality
• A hands-on, can-do approach
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Experience with plant, ground care, agricultural, automotive or small engine equipment is all relevant - if you’ve worked with machinery, we want to hear from you.
