Ground workers/Plant Operators (Water) required:
We are currently seeking experienced and proactive Ground workers / Site Operatives for a range of upcoming utilities and clean water infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established civil engineering team working on vital public utility frameworks (including Scottish Water assets).
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in the civils and utilities sector, with a strong commitment to health, safety, and hygiene standards required for clean water environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out all aspects of groundworks including excavation, trenching, bedding, pipe laying to falls, backfill, and compaction.
• Safely execute utility installation, reinstatement, ducting, and deep drainage works.
• Work on live clean water sites, strictly adhering to DOMS (Distribution Operations Maintenance Strategy) and EUSR Water Hygiene protocols.
• Read and accurately interpret site drawings, specifications, and drainage plans.
• Assist with general site preparation, operative duties, and supporting machine operators where required.
Essential Requirements & Tickets:
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Valid EUSR National Water Hygiene accreditation.
• DOMS certification (essential for Scottish Water sites).
• Proven groundworks and deep drainage experience within the civils/utility sector.
• Full UK Driving Licence (due to the remote location of specific utility sites).
Desirable Qualifications
• CPCS / NPORS Dumper & Roller tickets.
• 360 Excavator ticket.
• NRSWA Streetworks units.
• Confined Spaces (Medium Risk) certification.
