The roleThe Brand Experience Curator is responsible for curating, creating and delivering a distinctive programme of guest experiences and events at Meldrum House - from wellbeing sessions and guest speaker lunches to masterclasses and F&B pop-up activations. Working three days a week, the role builds and runs a coherent seasonal events calendar that reflects the Meldrum House brand, brings new energy to the hotel's public spaces, and creates additional reasons for guests and locals to visit.
A central part of the role is building relationships with local brands, makers and practitioners across Aberdeenshire - sourcing the right partners for each event, negotiating terms, and ensuring every activation feels authentically connected to place rather than generic or off-the-shelf.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvents Curation & Calendar Planning
- Build and maintain a rolling seasonal events calendar, balancing a mix of wellbeing, culinary, craft and cultural formats across the year.
- Identify gaps and opportunities in the calendar, and pace events sensibly around the hotel's existing operational rhythm (weddings, golf, F&B covers).
- Ensure each event has a clear purpose - whether driving incremental revenue, footfall, brand visibility, or guest loyalty - and is planned with that outcome in mind.
Event Formats
- Yoga and wellbeing sessions: source instructors, agree format and pricing, and manage logistics for regular or seasonal sessions.
- Guest speaker lunches: identify and approach speakers with local relevance or broader appeal, coordinate content and format, and manage F&B tie-in.
- Masterclasses: curate hands‑on sessions (culinary, craft, drinks or similar) with the right local practitioners, ensuring format and pricing suit the audience.
- F&B pop‑up activations: work with the F&B team and external partners to bring pop‑up concepts into the hotel's outlets or grounds for a defined run.
- Local Events:
For example estate home owners, golf members, chamber of commerce and other business groups. Work with F&B team and external partners to arrange seasonal activities such as 'summer & winter parties' and themed events to build community and loyalty.
Sourcing & Partner Liaison
- Build and maintain a pipeline of local brands, makers, practitioners, chefs and speakers suited to the Meldrum House brand.
- Lead outreach, negotiation and briefing for each partner, agreeing fees, format and logistics.
- Manage the day of delivery relationship with partners, ensuring a smooth experience for both partner and guest.
- Ensure all external partners follow and health and safety and compliance requirements as per wider AHG group policies. Working with AHG central compliance teams as required.
Commercial Delivery
- Cost and price each event with a clear view of margin, working within the Event P&L framework.
- Track attendance, revenue and guest feedback per event, feeding learnings into future programming.
- Support pricing and packaging decisions, including ticketing, bundling with F&B, or tie‑ins with overnight stays where relevant.
- Manage ticket sales (working with the events office). Handle any guest special requests such as dietaries. Take payments and manage working with accounts support.
- Create and deliver clear event instructions and function sheets to other departments.
- Host events on the day as the Hotel representative.
