About The Team:
As part of SRUC, SAC Consulting is one of the leading agricultural consultancies in Scotland. We are uniquely placed to support the sustainable growth and prosperity of agriculture and land-based businesses; working across food supply chains as they rise to the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and food security. SAC Consulting supports you locally with 85 consultants and 35 technicians and administrators in 25 offices across Scotland, providing local knowledge and farming expertise to over 9,000 farmers and crofters.
Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of our friendly and successful team in Northeast Scotland (SAC Stonehaven or Thainstone). This role will provide support to rural businesses and landowners, and includes a blend of practical and technical consultant support activities with an emphasis on soil sampling and associated services.
Key responsibilities- Sampling of soils for nutritional, pest and disease analysis and data collection, both in office and on farm.
- Project management and liaising with clients to ensure an efficient, customer focussed service.
- Use of GIS Mapping equipment and software to log samples and produce associated maps.
- Supporting consultants in delivery of national programmes and initiatives, including the Scottish Farm Advisory Service and Whole Farm Plan.
- Possessing good communication and numeracy skills.
- Having attention to detail, and ability to embrace new technical IT systems and methods.
The successful candidate will be educated to SCQF level 6 (SCQF Higher Level) including a high degree of numeracy or possess equivalent experience.
