DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a critical access hospital, requiring Trauma Level IV and Epic experience along with a KS or compact RN license.
Details- Critical access hospital Emergency Department with 25 staffed beds
- Combined adult/pediatric ER caring for approximately 20 visits per day across 7 rooms/beds
- Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- Weekend rotation required at least every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to Anderson County Hospital and between departments/units/facilities as needed
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Active KS or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Both Kansas and Missouri licenses (or compact) required in hand due to floating requirements
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
- 2 years of recent specialty experience required, including a full year within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days
- Trauma Level IV experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skills required:
interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions/PPE, triage, and IV therapy/phlebotomy - Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population, including dysrhythmia interpretation/management, central line care, ventilator and CPAP/BiPAP management, and vasopressor administration
- Navy scrub color required
- Free parking available
- Compliance documentation due two Fridays before start date, with 10-15 hours of EMR and equipment training modules to be completed prior to starting, including infusion pump and glucometer training by the Sunday before start
- EPIC training module or test-out option required prior to start
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates not accepted; candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
- Maximum RTO of 7 days, with all time-off requests finalized at time of consideration and no additional requests accepted after submission or onsite interview
- Returning staff must have a 3-month break in service after 18 months of prior service, and former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travel partners not accepted
