Job Overview

We are seeking a full‑time Special Response Specialist for Kansas Permanency Case Management. Candidates should hold a High School diploma or GED and possess at least two years of experience in child and family services. The position requires a passion for investigative work, empathy for youth in foster care, strong organizational and communication skills, and a desire to advocate for at‑risk youth.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with case teams, the Department for Children and Families (DCF), law enforcement, and other stakeholders to locate absent youth who are missing from placement.
  • Review case files, conduct social media searches, and contact family members and friends of the youth.
  • Engage with community partners and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss strategies for locating and supporting vulnerable youth.
  • Complete Human Trafficking assessments when necessary, ensuring all efforts are trauma‑informed and culturally sensitive.
  • Document findings and maintain regular communication with agencies and families.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years experience in child and family services.
  • Strong investigative mindset and compassion for youth in foster care.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self‑starter who is dedicated to serving children and families.
