Under the supervision of the County Administrator, the Finance Director is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the financial accounting systems, utilizing BS&A software for the County and Precision software for the Road Department. The Finance Director assists in maintaining the accounting system in compliance with established governmental accounting principles and practices. This position works closely with all County departments to ensure that financial activities are accurately recorded and reported.

Additionally, the Financial Director oversees staff responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, grant accounting, and other financial support functions.

Salary range: $$43.10 - $52.50

• Strong finance and financial planning skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and financial reporting in a governmental or public sector context.
• Advanced analytical skills for interpreting financial data, assessing trends, and supporting strategic decisions.
• Experience leading finance or accounting teams, with the ability to mentor staff and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of governmental accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and audit processes.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to public service and transparency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with public sector financial systems is an asset. Experience with BS&A and Precision software is highly desired.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
