Assists teachers in district classrooms for students who are cognitively impaired or physically/health impaired by performing a variety of duties designed to carry out individualized student education and positive behavioral support plans.

• Provide physical support to students with varying strength and limited mobility including wheelchair transfers and lift equipment.
• Implement program-wide and individual student behavior intervention programs, including monitoring behavior data collection, preparing incident reports, physical intervention, and reward systems under teacher direction.
• Supervise and monitor students during classroom activities and non-structured settings (e.g., arrival, departure, lunch, field trips, and recess).

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to interact with professionals and health care aides to provide a positive educational experience for children.
• Physical ability to safely lift students as needed: 50 pounds, or up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to push and pull heavy objects, repeatedly kneel, bend, twist or stand for long periods of time and other physical requirements when necessary.
