AboutThe Role
School Social Workers in Ionia County provide diagnostic, counseling and other supportive services to students in accordance with Michigan Special Education Rules. In this role, the candidate will serve as a consultant to classroom staff in areas of student social and emotional growth and behavior management. This position will work with parents, families, and community agencies as needed.
Qualifications Desired- Master's of Social Work Degree with full or temporary approval by Michigan Department of Education (MDE) as a School Social Worker and
- Hold a valid Limited Master Social Worker License (LLMSW) or valid Master Social Worker License (LMSW) issued by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA)
- Knowledge of child development, curriculum, and the roles of community agencies is preferred
- Interpersonal skills which promote positive personal relationships with students, parents, staff and community is required
