Assists teachers in district classrooms for the cognitively impaired or physically/otherwise health impaired by performing a variety of duties designed to carry out individual student education and positive behavioral support plans.

• Provide physical support to students with varying strength and limited mobility including wheelchair transfers and lift equipment.
• Implements program-wide and individual student behavior intervention programs, including monitoring behavior data collection, preparing incident reports, physical intervention and reward system under the direction of classroom teachers.
• Supervises and monitors students within classroom activities as well as non-structured settings (i.e. arrival, departure, lunch, field trips and recess).

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to interact with professionals and health care aides in providing a positive educational experience for children.
• Physical ability to safely lift students as needed: 50 pounds, or up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to push and pull heavy objects, repeatedly kneel, bend, twist or stand for long periods of time and other physical requirements when necessary.
