School Social Worker, Crisis Counselor, Human Services/ Social Work
Make a real difference in students’ lives by providing school social work support in a fulfilling, onsite contract role. This position focuses on serving students’ academic, social, and emotional growth in both elementary and middle school environments during the school year.
This opportunity is ideal for those with expertise in supporting K-5 and 3-5 grade levels, as well as experience working with nonpublic school populations. With a manageable caseload of approximately 43-48 students spread across three buildings, you’ll have the chance to build genuine, supportive relationships and contribute meaningfully to their school experience.
Qualifications- Full approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker
- Demonstrated experience providing social work services in K-5 or middle school settings
- Strong communication, intervention, and collaboration skills
- Ability to design, implement, and monitor intervention strategies that encourage student success
- Commitment to supporting diverse student populations and working closely with educators and families
- Deliver direct and indirect social work services to students individually and in groups
- Work closely with school staff and families to address academic, social, and emotional needs
- Support positive behavioral interventions and effective response to crises within the school community
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for each student on your caseload
- Collaborate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams as needed
- Onsite only
- 37.5 hours per week
- Assignment from August 18, 2026, through May 15, 2027
