Job Title:

Director – Immunology (Rheumatology)

Pulivarthi Group is seeking an accomplished Director – Immunology (Rheumatology) to lead early clinical development programs across the rheumatology and immunology therapeutic areas. The ideal candidate will bring deep scientific and clinical expertise, strategic vision, and proven leadership to oversee clinical trial design, execution, and regulatory interactions. This role provides an opportunity to influence global clinical development strategies and shape the future of innovative therapies within immunology.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the independent medical monitor for Phase 1 through Proof-of-Concept clinical trials.
  • Provide medical oversight and accountability across multiple studies within early clinical development.
  • Analyze and interpret clinical trial data, ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety standards.
  • Partner with Clinical Scientists to design study protocols and manage inclusion/exclusion criteria and safety parameters.
  • Oversee medical aspects of site interactions, safety reviews, and narrative preparation.
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions, study reports, and scientific publications.
Clinical Development Expertise & Strategy
  • Design, develop, and implement clinical studies aligned with asset strategies in collaboration with leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Guide dose selection, patient stratification, biomarker integration, and study design elements.
  • Maintain in-depth expertise in disease pathophysiology, treatment modalities, and emerging research in immunology and rheumatology.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and provide insights to optimize portfolio positioning.
  • Deliver medical education and training to clinical teams, investigators, and internal stakeholders.
Health Authority Interactions
  • Serve as a primary clinical representative for regulatory and advisory meetings.
  • Contribute clinical and scientific content to regulatory submissions, including CSRs, briefing books, and supporting documentation.
External Partnerships & Publications
  • Build and maintain strategic collaborations with academic institutions, cooperative groups, and global Phase 1 centers.
  • Represent the organization in conferences, symposia, and key opinion leader engagements.
  • Contribute to publications, patents, or scientific presentations that advance the field.
Primary Skills
  • Deep expertise in immunology and rheumatology.
  • Strong understanding of early-stage drug development and translational medicine.
  • Proficiency in regulatory strategy, study design, and data interpretation.
  • Excellent leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with ability to present complex scientific information effectively.
Qualifications
  • Advanced medical degree (MD or MD/PhD or international equivalent) required.
  • Subspecialty fellowship training in rheumatology or immunology preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in translational, discovery, or clinical research within academia or industry.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership in early clinical development programs.
