University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 50%-100% Staff Nurse to work at the Hemodialysis Inpatient Unit.
Responsibilities- Providing hemodialysis and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy to patients with acute kidney disease.
- Responsible for direct patient care in the renal replacement suite.
- Provide appropriate treatment for assigned patients as developed by the interdisciplinary team.
- Deliver safe and effective care to adult acute renal patients using critical thinking and collaboration.
- Accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.

- Percent of Time: 50%-100% / 20 hours a week up to 40 hours a week
- Schedule:
Mon-Sat, rotating 10 hour shifts with variable start times; working 2 out of every 4 Saturdays; on call responsibilities. - Salary: $61,183 minimum at 100% effort; salary based on years of experience and percent effort.

- An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
- General computer skills are required.
- If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable.
- Previous RN Dialysis and IV cannulation experience is desired.
- Knowledge of university policies and procedures is desirable.
- 1 year recent medical/surgical RN experience.
