Position: Staff Nurse (RN) – Adult Acute Care Unit (2

JCP). The unit is part of UI Health Care's Medical Surgical Services division and consists of 30 beds, serving a variety of patients including family medicine and specialized surgical services such as ENT, oral surgery, and plastic reconstructive surgery. All rooms are private to enhance patient comfort.

Percent of Time: 60%

Schedule: Weekend Option

Location: Iowa City, Iowa

Salary: $61,183.00 minimum at 100% effort; varies with experience and effort. Does not include differentials. Salary will vary based on years of experience and percent of effort.

Pay Differentials: Shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Premium pay for additional shifts greater than 4 hours. Inpatient differential of $10,000 per year based on 100% time.

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Health Care Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members, demonstrated through interactions
• General computer skills

• Current license to practice nursing in Iowa, required by date of hire

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Nursing is highly desired
• If Baccalaureate degree not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable
• Previous telemetry experience desired
• Knowledge of University policies and procedures
