University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 50%–100% Staff Nurse to work at the Hemodialysis Inpatient Unit.
Duties To Include- Providing hemodialysis and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy to patients with acute kidney disease.
- Responsible for direct patient care in the renal replacement suite.
- Provide appropriate treatment for assigned patients as developed by the interdisciplinary team.
- Deliver safe and effective care to adult acute renal patients using critical thinking and collaboration.
- Accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.

50%–100% / 20 hours a week up to 40 hours a week.
ScheduleMon‑Sat, rotating 10‑hour shifts with variable start times. Working 2 out of every 4 Saturdays. On call responsibilities.
Salary$61,183 minimum at 100% effort to commensurate. Salary will be based on years of experience and percent effort.
LocationUniversity Campus.

Education- An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Master’s of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
- General computer skills are required.
- If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable.
- Previous RN Dialysis and IV cannulation experience is desired.
- Knowledge of university policies and procedures is desired.
- 1 year recent medical/surgical RN experience.
