Registered Nurse- Cardiac Catheterization Lab

The Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology Laboratory (CCL) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based procedural care to assigned patients & oversight of staff as appropriate in the pre/post procedural setting. This RN provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching. They will assist in directing the nursing education, orientation, competencies, and providing quality improvement and outcomes.

Major duties include but are not limited to:

* Responsible & accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.

* Responsible for coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care

* Administers medications and assists in the performance of procedures per established policies and guidelines

* Influences outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.

* Delivers and manages the care of patients undergoing therapeutic and diagnostic cardiology procedures including both inpatients and outpatients.

* Assesses the patients physical and mental status prior to procedures, educates on procedural and pre/post-procedural care, and documents responses to interventions, findings, and reports and changes.

* Functions in several roles to include, pre--procedure assessments, post procedural recovery, and assisting providers during procedures.

* Maintains proficiency on the maintenance, cleaning and preparation of cardiology specific equipment.

* Recognize changes in patient care situations and initiate appropriate emergency responses.

-Monday - Friday  - This position takes 24/7 call on alternating days in the month as well is expected to extend their tour of duty based on patient care needs.
