Licensed Practical Nurse – OBGYN Clinic (Jefferson Street) – 60%
University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 60% Licensed Practical Nurse to work in our Jefferson Street OBGYN Clinic.
Responsibilities- Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
- Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
- In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
- Performs patient care related to vital signs, lab draws, setting up and assisting with minor procedures, in-clinic treatments, point of care testing and other duties as assigned.
- Provides psychological support to the patient and family based on assessed needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Percent of Time: 60% (24 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, rotating days. 8:30am-5:30pm. No weekends and no holidays. Free parking on site

Minimum Eligibility Requirements- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
