Job Overview
Staff Nurses will provide nursing care for patients undergoing a broad range of ENT and oral surgery procedures, including routine, complex, and reconstructive surgeries.
Responsibilities- Apply nursing theory to assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate patient responses to health and illness.
- Assess patient health‑care preferences and expectations.
- Collaboratively coordinate the continuum of care across settings.
- Develop patient care plans based on condition, age, and psychosocial factors, prescribing interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
- Implement care plans according to patient priorities, documenting interventions and patient/family responses.
- Collaborate with patients and families to integrate their input into multidisciplinary care plans.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement transfer/discharge planning throughout the episode of care.
- Implement nursing interventions in line with department, division, or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Follow universal precautions.
90–100% effort.
Monday through Friday rotating 10‑ or 12‑hour shifts; scheduled weekends, on‑call shifts, and rotating holidays.
LocationUniversity Campus.
Compensation & BenefitsBase salary: $61,183 (at 100% effort). Sign‑on bonus up to $12,500. Shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Inpatient differentials up to $10,000 per year. OR premium pay up to $10,000 at 100% effort.

Required Qualifications- Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP) MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
- General computer skills.
- Current Iowa nursing license required by hire date.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing highly desired.
- Active enrollment in a BSN program if degree not yet obtained.
- Knowledge of university policies and procedures desired.
