Licensed Practical Nurse - UI Health Care Cedar Rapids Endo Clinic

Position Overview

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 80% (32 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC Cedar Rapids Specialty Adult Endocrinology Clinic. This position will mainly support our Endo Clinic but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics.

Our Endocrinology Clinic provides expert care for diabetes and other conditions that affect the body’s glands, hormones, and metabolism. We provide personalized diabetes treatment plans and follow-up care. Our team builds relationships with patients, monitors their care history, and delivers personalized, compassionate care to every patient.

When a patient needs specialty care, our provider connects them with the appropriate UI Health Care specialist, ensuring a seamless experience by sharing your medical records.

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
• Current valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards.

Variable hours Monday - Friday between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. No on call time, weekends, or holidays required.

$36,364.61 at 80% time - $54,171.07 (based on years of experience)

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.

• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

• Previous EPIC experience.
• Current or previous Family Medicine Clinic experience (within the past 2 years).
• Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical needs/hours.

• Ability to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy in all aspects of the role.
• Previous phlebotomy experience.
• Previous immunization experience.
• Previous OB experience.
