Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $12,500.
Position70% Staff Nurse – Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Iowa Health Care, Campus location.
Responsibilities- Applies nursing theory to assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses.
- Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations.
- Collaboratively coordinates continuum of care across settings.
- Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, socioeconomic factors, and prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
- Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, documenting and reporting interventions and patient/family response.
- Integrates contributions of patients and families into a multidisciplinary patient care plan.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements transfer and discharge planning throughout the episode of care.
- Implements nursing interventions per department policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Master’s of Nursing and Healthcare Practice, MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA).
- Current license to practice in Iowa by the time of hire.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
- General computer skills.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Nursing is highly desired.
- Active enrollment in a BSN program if the degree is not yet obtained.
- Oncology experience.
- Previous experience with EPIC.
Salary: $61,183 minimum at 100% effort; varies with experience and effort percentage.

Schedule & LocationSchedule:
Monday–Friday, 8–10 hour shifts. Two extended shifts once every four weeks. No nights, holidays, or weekends. 70% effort (28 hours per week).
