Position Overview
The University of Iowa's Nurse-Midwifery Division, housed within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is seeking a passionate and experienced Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to join our growing faculty on the non-tenure clinical track.
Join a dynamic team of nurse-midwives at a nationally recognized academic medical center that values clinical excellence, innovative education, and impactful research.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive care for patients with both normal and high-risk pregnancies, including gynecology and contraceptive management.
- Teach and mentor midwifery students in the hospital-based, faculty-led education program, as well as medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Collaborate on cutting-edge research projects and contribute to the advancement of midwifery and obstetric care.
- Pursue leadership in committee work, curriculum development, clinical innovation, and group-based prenatal care.
- Participate in the rapid expansion of clinical services and educational programming within the division.
- Minimum two years of experience as a practicing midwife.
- Active RN/ARNP license from the Iowa Board of Nursing (required prior to hire).
- Strong inpatient and outpatient clinical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to teaching and mentoring in an academic setting.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, evening clinics, and off-site care.
- Board certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
- EPIC proficiency and interest in group prenatal care.
- Master's degree. If a master's degree is not in nursing, a baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation, including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment, and provide a related release. Candidates will also be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
