Licensed Practical Nurse - UI Health Care Cedar Rapids Endo Clinic 80%

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient‑centered licensed practical nurse (LPN) to work 80% (32 hours a week) at the UICC Cedar Rapids Specialty Adult Endocrinology Clinic. This position will primarily support the Endocrinology Clinic but may float to other patient specialties and clinic locations, including Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and specialty/or outreach clinics.

Our Endocrinology Clinic provides expert care for diabetes and other hormone‑related conditions, offering personalized treatment plans and follow‑up care. The team builds relationships with patients, monitors care history, and delivers compassionate care. When specialty care is needed, our provider connects patients with the appropriate UI Health Care specialist, ensuring a seamless experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
  • Participates in the development of nursing care plans and implements therapeutic programs for patients.
  • Assumes responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel in less complex situations; acts as an assistant to the registered professional nurse in more complex situations.
  • Maintains a current valid driver’s license and meets University Driving Policy Standards.
Qualifications Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for a temporary work permit; must maintain required continuing education hours.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
Special Qualification / License
  • Driver’s License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication.
Highly Desired Requirements
  • Previous EPIC experience.
  • Current or previous Family Medicine Clinic experience within the past two years.
  • Availability to support other clinical locations based on clinical needs and hours.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy in all aspects of the role.
  • Previous phlebotomy experience.
  • Previous immunization experience.
  • Previous OB experience.

Schedule & Location

Percent of Time: 80 % (32 hours per week)

Schedule:

Variable hours Monday–Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. No on‑call time, weekends, or holidays required.

Location:

Cedar Rapids, IA (or surrounding clinics based on clinical need or hours).

Salary

$36,364.61 (at 80 % time) – $54,171.07 (based on years of experience).
