Candidates are eligible for a sign on incentive of up to $12,500 based on experience.

This state-of-the-art unit design features private rooms, natural light-filled spaces, open nurses’ station, and exercise rooms. Innovative technology has been integrated into this space to promote a safe environment for staff members and patients.

RCP is separated into a 12-bed mood disorder unit and a 13-bed general adult psychiatry unit. We utilize an evidence-based, patient-centered, interdisciplinary approach, with contributions from physicians, psychologists, advanced practice providers, master-level therapists, nurses, social workers, dieticians, occupational and recreational therapists, all striving to work collaboratively with patients and families to provide the best possible care. 7

RCP features a new and collaborative position, Behavioral Health Consultant, with a goal to elevate the patient and team outcomes. Evidence-based therapeutic modalities utilized on the unit include dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and trauma-informed care.

50‑100%

20‑40 hours per week, shifts vary and negotiable.

Every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Premium pay for additional shifts greater than 4 hours. Inpatient differential up to $10,000 per year.

• An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
• General computer skills.
• Current license to practice nursing in Iowa by the date of hire.

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing is highly desired.
• Active enrollment in a BSN program desirable if Baccalaureate degree in Nursing not yet obtained.
• Knowledge of university and hospital policies and procedures desired.
