The University of Iowa Health Care, Child Health Specialty Clinics (CHSC), is seeking an 80% ARNP Supervisor. This position is located in Sioux City, IA.
Responsibilities- Assess the physical, psychosocial, and developmental status of children, youth, and young adults by history taking, records review, physical examination, and developmental and/or mental health screening/testing.
- Develop patient care plans with families and care teams, including teaching, counseling, referrals, coordination, and prescribing medications if indicated.
- Monitor follow‑through and evaluate effectiveness of care, completing medical records, reports, and forms per UI Health Care standards and billing services appropriately.
- Ensure services reflect principles of family‑centered, community‑based, and comprehensive care.
- Increase community awareness of DCCH programs.
- Provide leadership for development of infrastructure for new programs serving CYSHCN and their families, advocating and educating about programs.
- Pursue opportunities to expand professional knowledge, skills, and abilities to continually improve quality of care.
- Participate in and/or provide leadership for program‑wide quality assessments and performance improvement initiatives.
- Oversee efforts directed at achieving the State and National Performance Measures defined by the Maternal and Child Health Title V Program.
- Manage the regional center, including day‑to‑day finances, facilities, and equipment.
- Supervise and evaluate center staff according to evaluation criteria, personnel policies, and union contracts.
- Participate on DCCH committees and work groups.
- Master’s degree (preferred in nursing). If Master’s is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.
- Current Iowa nursing license and Iowa ARNP license at time of hire.
- ARNP certification in specialty area of Pediatrics, Family, or Psychiatric Mental Health at time of hire.
- Minimum of five years experience as an ARNP, including pediatrics nursing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage care of children and young adults with special health care needs (developmental disabilities, behavioral concerns, serious emotional disorders).
- Experience working effectively in a welcoming, respectful workplace and with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven capacity for high autonomy while working effectively in a team.
- Ability to travel between clinic locations; valid driver’s license and meet University of Iowa Fleet Safety standards.
- Previous ARNP/Nursing experience working with children and young adults with special health care needs.
- Management and supervisory experience.
- Experience developing and implementing pediatric care plans and care coordination.
- Experience with public health programs serving children with special health care needs.
- Public speaking and community outreach experience.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa and University of Iowa Healthcare policies and procedures.
