Working Title Post-baccalaureate Research Intern (Abel Lab Summer)
Position OverviewA research intern is needed to conduct cutting-edge research focused on the molecular mechanisms of memory consolidation. The candidate will assist in performing experiments using mice with molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques. This appointment is for a limited duration, anticipated length of one year with possibility of renewal for a second year.
Eligibility- Seek training, experience, and mentoring in a research setting
- Plan to pursue a graduate or professional degree in science, medicine or a related field
- Have US citizenship or permanent residence

- Maintain colonies of genetically modified mice: breeding, weaning and genotyping of the mice as well as maintaining electronic records of the colonies.
- Perform laboratory maintenance.
- Maintain laboratory and experimental records.
- Assist postdoctoral fellows or graduate students in maintaining mouse colonies and performing genotyping and experiments.
- Keep detailed written and organized records of experimental design, protocols, computer data analysis and raw data.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a biomedical related science or an equivalent combination of education. Minimum 3.2 GPA.
