With major investments in clean energy, grid modernization, and enterprise systems, this organization is shaping the future of energy in one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.
This is a high-visibility leadership role for an experienced external reporting professional who wants to make a real impact. You will take full ownership of SEC and regulatory filings, lead and develop a high-performing team, and drive key process improvements while shaping the organization’s financial reporting strategy during an exciting period of evolution.
Key Responsibilities- Lead preparation and review of SEC and regulatory filings, including Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K, and other required reports.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, internal accounting partners, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Lead and develop a team of 4–5 professionals, driving accountability, structure, and professional growth.
- Own technical accounting research and resolution of complex reporting matters, including regulatory accounting, contracts, benefit plans, and new standards adoption.
- Oversee SOX compliance activities, audit coordination, and remediation efforts.
- Drive process improvements and support enterprise system implementations.
- Partner cross-functionally with regulatory and finance teams on filings, testimony, and data requests.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in external reporting, technical accounting, or audit, ideally within a regulated or public company environment.
- Deep understanding of SEC reporting requirements; regulatory reporting experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience leading teams and navigating change in complex environments.
- Strong technical accounting, analytical, and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and external auditors.
