Build the financial backbone of a growing northwest Iowa company.

We are a growing outdoor services company serving customers across lawn care, sprinkler systems, landscaping, pest control, and related property services. As we continue to expand — including into home building and construction-related work — we are looking for a hands‑on Accountant or
Senior Accountant to take ownership of our accounting function.

In this role, you will manage the day‑to‑day accounting operations of the company, including financial reporting, payroll support, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax coordination, equipment tracking, and job costing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage full‑cycle accounting, including general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end close
• Prepare monthly financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and budget‑versus‑actual reports
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections
• Process or coordinate payroll for field, seasonal, and office employees
• Track equipment purchases, loans, leases, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules
• Coordinate tax‑related reporting, 1099s, payroll tax support, sales/use tax, and year‑end information with our outside CPA
• Support job costing for landscaping, irrigation, pest control, and future home building projects
• Help ownership better understand profitability by division, crew, service line, and project
• Improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls as the company grows

The ideal candidate is organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a hands‑on business environment. We are looking for someone who can manage the details while also helping ownership make better financial decisions.

Preferred qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting experience; 5+ years preferred
• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Experience in construction, landscaping, trades, service businesses, agriculture, or equipment‑heavy industries is a plus but not required
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Experience with job costing, equipment tracking, fixed assets, or depreciation preferred
• Comfortable working with accounting software such as Quickbooks and Excel
• Ability to communicate clearly with ownership, managers, vendors, employees, and outside CPA/tax professionals
• High level of confidentiality, accuracy, and follow‑through
