The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for multi-state payroll administration and will work alongside the Payroll Accountant and another Payroll Administrator. Primary ResponsibilitiesAs part of our payroll team, you’ll play an important part in supporting employees and managers across multiple states to ensure our payroll accounting and processes are accurate, timely and compliant with state and federal requirements. You will help continuously improve the processes used every day by employees and managers while also working with outside agencies, making professionalism, confidentiality and customer service essential to your success.
Responsibilitieswill include
- Review weekly electronic timecards for equipment or job costing issues.
- Prepare and process weekly payrolls for all employees in multiple states
- Maintain knowledge of multi-state payroll requirements and verify accurate tax setup and withholding
- Verify and process garnishments or child support and communicate with outside sources as needed.
- Maintain fringe information to calculate correct wages for federal jobs.
- Maintain confidential employee and payroll files.
- Assist with all payroll tax filings and required multi-worksite reporting.
- Process unemployment claims and decisions.
- Process Accounts Receivable benefit payments and reconciliations.
- Provide professional, responsive, and confidential customer service to employees, managers, government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements using available technologies.
We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable and capable of balancing technical payroll responsibilities with customer service. The ideal candidate will have:
- A two-year degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of multi-state payroll practices.
- PC proficiency, particularly with Microsoft applications including Excel.
- A high level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
