District Office Administrative Assistant Job Description
The Harlan Community School District is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Administrative Assistant to join our District Office team. This position provides administrative support to the Superintendent, Director of Finance, and Director of Human Resources while serving as a key point of contact for staff, families, and community members.
Primary responsibilities include processing and managing district payroll, maintaining confidential employee and financial records, assisting with human resources and business office functions, coordinating communications, preparing reports and correspondence, and supporting daily district operations. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, proficiency with technology, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires professionalism, discretion when handling confidential information, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to district employees and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate's degree or related experience preferred
- Payroll, accounting, human resources, or administrative office experience preferred
- Strong computer and data management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
The District Office Administrative Assistant plays an important role in supporting the efficient operation of the school district and helping ensure outstanding service to students, staff, and the community.
