* Position-
- * ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
* Reports-
- * To Senior Pastor
* Compensation Paid--* $17- $20/hr based on experience. Paid on 20th of each month via direct deposit
* Work Schedule-
- * Part-time position, 20 hours per week To cover Monday-Thursday 5 hours per day between 9 AM-5PM (start and end times flexible but must be consistent) except holidays
* Benefits-
- * 2 weeks paid vacation per year (after 90-day probation period), in addition to Federal holidays that fall in work week. This position does not qualify for health and retirement benefits Ministry Expectations

- Working with all professional staff and volunteers in applying secretarial assistance that relates to the work of the church.
- Supporting the professional staff in their work to plan, maintain, coordinate and implement the programs and activities of the church.
- Serving as the communication link for all administrative and program work areas of the church.
- Meeting and assisting all who enter the church building in the Spirit of Christ.
- Following the policies/procedures of the FUMC.
- Following FUMC Children and Youth Protection Policy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Personable and comfortable answering phone calls and emails
- Show outstanding hospitality to visitors and direct them to appropriate staff
- Be organized, have time management skills, and adhere to deadlines
- Work under limited supervision and be a strong self-starter

- Be punctual
- Have outstanding knowledge and command of the English language

- Experience in Planning Center, church management software, is a plus
Be accountable to the pastors regarding the functions and duties of the church in supporting the administrative responsibilities of the church office.
- Carry out the administrative duties to assist the church staff and congregation.
- Receive and welcome visitors and church members to the church.
- Answer the phone and direct calls to appropriate church staff, keeping information up to date for recordings.
- Take care of all mail and office email functions.
- Maintain the online church calendar.
- Coordinate church activities by assigning rooms to committees and organizations meeting in the church.
- Post daily assigned meeting room agenda on entry-way monitor.
- Notify the marketing coordinator of relevant church events to be promoted.
- Notify custodian of funerals, weddings, and other special events.
- Provide secretarial support for all committees of the church as needed.
- Maintain church membership records, to also include baptisms, weddings and funerals in the database, including follow-through as necessary with other churches for transfer of memberships, etc.
- Prepare all certificates for the pastor’s signature.
- Maintain the Resource Room (including Upper Room publication) with updated information.
- Create events, sign-ups and forms in Planning Center as needed.
- Help to prepare the year-end data documents for the annual charge conference in the fall reports and collect data for the Annual Statistical Report for the Iowa Conference after the end of the year.
- Prepare and send the weekly Home Touch mailing to those with limited mobility.
- Attend the weekly staff meeting and with Pastor’s direction, create agenda for the meeting.
