Position Title: National Account Manager – Produce
This is a pivotal moment for the organization. The produce business—anchored by major national accounts in fresh foods—represents one of the company’s largest and most strategically important revenue streams. With the retirement/departure of a deeply embedded industry veteran who personally managed a substantial book of business and served as the technical, operational, and strategic quarterback for the largest customers, the organization is now seeking a highly capable commercial leader to preserve, protect, and expand this critical segment.
As National Account Manager, you will immediately step into a high‑impact role where your deep produce knowledge, technical fluency in flexible films, and trusted relationships will directly determine the company’s ability to retain market share and accelerate growth. You will serve as the face of the organization to some of the most sophisticated produce customers in the U.S.—customers that rely on lightning‑fast decision‑making, on‑the‑fly technical problem‑solving, and exceptional service continuity.
Your impact will be felt across the entire business: safeguarding major accounts, strengthening the company’s value proposition, enabling nimble commercialization of new products, and leveraging expanded technical and graphics capabilities to support customer innovation. This role offers the autonomy, responsibility, and strategic influence to shape the future of the company’s produce footprint for years to come.
The CompanyThe organization is widely recognized as a leading flexible film supplier to the produce industry, built on a reputation for exceptional flexibility, responsiveness, and technical sophistication. A key manufacturing operation within the business has long been considered a competitive advantage, delivering strong customer service and operational efficiency that outperform industry peers in speed, quality, and reliability.
The company now benefits from an expanded network, enhanced technical resources, and in‑house graphics capabilities that significantly shorten lead times and accelerate commercialization—a major advantage in the fast‑moving produce industry where customers frequently change structures, artwork, and run requirements with little notice.
Customers value the organization because it is both nimble and deeply knowledgeable about produce‑specific performance requirements. Its ability to pivot rapidly, solve problems in real time, and provide credible technical support has made it the preferred supplier to many of the largest names in fresh foods.
The BossThe National Account Manager reports directly to a senior commercial leader who values strong technical competence, trusted customer relationships, professional communication, and an ability to collaborate cross‑functionally. This role requires close partnership with technical resources, operations, customer service, planning, and executive leadership across the broader network.
The PositionThe National Account Manager is responsible for managing and expanding the company’s most significant produce customers while developing new strategic relationships in the fresh foods sector. This role carries full ownership of account planning, technical stewardship, product commercialization support, and revenue and margin growth.
You will act as the primary escalation point for high‑value customers, navigating complex manufacturing networks, solving service challenges, and providing technical guidance on film structures, laminations, converting processes, and packaging performance.
Success requires not only commercial acumen but also credibility with engineers, operations personnel, procurement leaders, and senior executives inside customer organizations. This person must understand produce products, growing seasons, fog requirements, vent patterns, film gauges, structure composition, and machineability considerations—often making real‑time decisions to keep customers’ production lines running.
