Business Analyst – Garner, NC - Hybrid (M/W/F)

An outstanding opportunity to join a global industrial manufacturing organization, a leader in engineered products, during a critical period of commercial growth and increased reliance on customer-facing retail analytics to support sales, pricing, and assortment decisions.

Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to drive retail POS, inventory, and sales analysis in support of a National Accounts organization. This is a critical, high-visibility role that combines hands‑on data analysis, business insight development, and direct collaboration with the Supply Chain teams.

The successful candidate will be accountable for analyzing large retail datasets, identifying SKU and assortment performance trends, and translating data into actionable recommendations used in internal and customer meetings, reporting directly to Retail commercial leadership, with strong visibility to Sales leadership and cross‑functional partners supporting major retail accounts.

Key

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst in a commercial, sales, or retail‑facing environment
  • Hands‑on experience working with retail POS and inventory data
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret large datasets (commonly hundreds to thousands of SKUs)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data structuring, analytical modeling)
  • Strong ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights
  • Strong written communication skills; ability to deliver concise, direct, buyer‑ready summaries
  • Experience working with BI tools and ERP systems is not necessary but preferred

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze retail POS, inventory, and sales data to identify performance trends and growth opportunities
  • Evaluate SKU productivity, assortment effectiveness, and item‑level performance across retail accounts
  • Develop recurring Excel‑based analyses to support pricing, promotions, and customer discussions
  • Translate large datasets into actionable insights and recommendations for internal and customer‑facing use
  • Prepare clear, concise PowerPoint presentations and summaries for Sales leadership and customer meetings
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management during customer reviews and planning sessions
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to flag demand shifts and forecasting implications
  • Work with Marketing to support promotional opportunities and stocking recommendations
  • Compare customer POS data against internal shipment data using internal BI tools
  • 10‑20% travel when required for customer meetings
