Position: HSE SUPERINTENDENT
Location: Nevada

We are currently seeking a HSE Superintendent to add to our HSE team. The ideal candidate will have education, training, and experience in the construction field commensurate with the intended duties, coupled with a high level of passion, commitment, and dedication to the health and well‑being of others.

Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of HSE management systems that support the project needs, including site‑specific plans and programs.
  • Provide technical guidance to the assigned project.
  • Assist management, supervision, and employees in the planning, recognition, evaluation, and mediation of risk.
  • Facilitate and/or conduct HSE training for the project as needed, and ensure training is tracked internally as required.
  • Lead or participate in investigations of incidents, including causal analyses, and prepare incident reports.
  • Regularly communicate the status of the project’s HSE culture and performance with project and Nox Management.
  • Provide injury management from a site level and support workers’ comp case management.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting with internal and external support, including claims processing, return to work, light duty assignment, closure of claims, and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Provide direction and guidance for any employees under your supervision.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of construction HSE experience preferred or a degree in an OHS‑related field acceptable in lieu of field experience.
  • Prefer at least one year in a supervisory role (can be non‑HSE related), and experience with the craft and work activities to be performed on the project (e.g., electrical, welding, crane, equipment operation, rigging).
  • Capable of providing HSE management for small to midsize projects (≤250 employees).
  • Ability to manage HSE teams of three or less.
  • Thorough understanding of construction work practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including proper grammar and spelling.
  • Ability to foster compromise that meets the needs of operations while maintaining compliance with policy.
  • Advanced knowledge of behavior‑based safety and human performance initiatives.
  • Ability to positively motivate others and establish a professional rapport with all employees, site personnel, and customers.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted, frequently throughout the day.
  • Ability to work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe platforms.
  • Able to work a 40‑hour work week, with overtime and off‑hour shifts as required.
  • Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, both indoor and outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow depending on location.
Education & Certifications
  • NFPA 70E training.
  • NCCER Safety Technology
    * or other Nox‑recognized certification, on a path to obtain a national certification (BCSP, NASP, or other provider) OR in an accredited degree program for occupational safety and health.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards and applicable regulations.
  • OSHA 500 certification.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
Safety Level
  • The inherent responsibilities of your role may include physical working conditions. To successfully perform job duties you must be able to:
    • Potentially lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Potentially perform repeated pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching (or working above shoulder), walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing.
    • Potentially operate a motor vehicle, crane, tractor, etc.
