Overview

Pro Commercial is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support project management and field operations on commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for someone with basic plan-reading skills who wants to grow into a higher-responsibility project role within a structured, fast-paced environment. You’ll contribute to document control, preconstruction support, coordination, and scheduling to keep projects moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Support
    • Assist Project Managers and Coordinators with RFIs, submittals, and document control
    • Ensure timely and accurate submittal tracking and quality reviews
    • Join PMs on jobsite walks and provide support on installation and progress issues
  • Preconstruction Support
    • Perform takeoffs using Bluebeam or similar software
    • Help with subcontractor bid coverage and proposal development
    • Assist in reviewing plans/specs and identifying potential constructability issues
  • Field & Operations Coordination
    • Support project scheduling and subcontractor mobilization
    • Maintain accurate jobsite documentation including photos and reports
    • Track procurement and communicate material lead times
  • Communication & Documentation
    • Maintain project logs (RFIs, submittals, change orders)
    • Attend and document project meetings
    • Help develop standardized templates and project protocols
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of relevant construction or project support experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to read construction plans; CAD/drafting experience is a plus
  • Proactive problem-solver with a positive, teachable attitude
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Bluebeam or Procore is a bonus
