Overview

Join our team at the Anamosa State Penitentiary as a Dentist in the Health Services Unit.
Responsibilities- Triage patients, evaluate concerns and perform surgeries that are safe to be done in a correctional setting.
- Advise patients on the process for obtaining dentures or partials and follow through the care plan.
- Refer patients to the UIHC oral surgery department when treatment cannot be performed on site.
- Prescribe medications as needed to treat patients.
- Answer O’mail messages, provide patient education based on assessments, and, with assistance of the dental assistant, assure proper cleaning and sterilization of instruments.
- Assist in determining supplies to be ordered and identify equipment that needs repair or replacement.
- Work collaboratively with the security team when scheduling patients.

MinimumQualification Requirements
Licensure as a dentist issued by the Board of Dental Examiners of the Iowa Department of Health shall be considered as qualifying. Please be sure to include your license information with your application.
