Join our team at the Anamosa State Penitentiary as a Dentist in the Health Services Unit.
Responsibilities- Triage patients, evaluate concerns, perform surgeries safe for a correctional setting, and evaluate and follow the process for a patient to receive dentures or partials.
- Refer patients to the UIHC oral surgery department when treatment cannot be provided on site.
- Prescribe medications when needed to treat patients.
- Answer O'mail messages, provide patient education based on assessments and with the assistance of the dental assistant, and assure proper cleaning and sterilization of instruments.
- Assist in determining supply needs and when equipment requires repair or replacement.
- Collaborate with the security team when scheduling patient appointments.
- Licensure as a dentist issued by the Board of Dental Examiners of the Iowa Department of Health.
