We are seeking a highly qualified Board-Certified Psychiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity near Center Junction, IA. This is an immediate need with an ongoing schedule, ideal for those seeking flexibility while making a significant impact on patient care. The role offers regular weekday hours with limited call, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule.

• Monday - Friday: 8 AM - 5 PM
• Call Requirements:
  Shared daytime call from 9 AM to 5 PM, approximately every third day
• Weekend Call:
  No weekend or evening call

• Round on inpatient psychiatric units (both adult and adolescent units)
• Handle hospital and ER consults as needed during regular business hours
• Participate in call coverage every third day for hospital consults
• Manage a patient load of 5-12 per day

• Inpatient Unit: 18 adult beds, 5 adolescent beds
• Support Staff: 2 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• EMR System:
  Cerner
• Trauma Level: III
• Referral Protocol:
  University of Iowa is the primary referral partner, 40 minutes away by car
• Security:
  Strong safety protocols with security teams in place

• Required Treatment Disorders:
  Anxiety Disorders, Affective Disorders, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, Developmental Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Organic Disorders
• Therapeutic Modalities:
  Family Therapy, Group Therapy, Pharmacotherapy, Seclusion Therapy, and more

• Must be Board Certified in Psychiatry (BE not accepted)
• Experience in treating patients ages 6 and up is preferred
• Familiarity with inpatient psychiatric care, including hospital consults and ER consults
• Telehealth is not an option for this role
• State License:
  Must have or be eligible for Iowa licensure

• Flexible schedule with 2-3 weeks per month of coverage
• No evening or weekend call
