The Adel DeSoto Minburn Community School District is seeking a highly skilled and motivated 6th-grade teacher at DeSoto Intermediate for the 2026-27 school year. DeSoto Intermediate is a progressive fifth and sixth-grade building with small class sizes and an energetic, passionate staff. DeSoto Intermediate educates approximately 350 students and is located directly west of Waukee on the edge of the Des Moines metropolitan area.

6th grade teachers work on teams and teach two groups of students in various content areas. Sixth-grade teachers will be responsible for teaching either math and science or reading, writing, and social studies.

Candidates must lead with humility and strive for continued improvement. Applicants must be highly collaborative and able to analyze student achievement data to make instructional decisions. The ADM staff is committed to the Professional Learning Community model and this position requires dedication to collaborative teaming and student achievement. The ideal candidate would possess a passion for student achievement and emotional well-being, have experience integrating technology within the classroom, and strive for continued instructional improvement.
