We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Special Education Teacher to foster an engaging learning environment for students with diverse needs. Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state standards, incorporating innovative learning technology and creative writing techniques to engage students across different subjects
- Lead the development, review, and implementation of IEPs for students with disabilities and ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, parents, and administrative staff to coordinate services and monitor student progress through standardized testing and ongoing assessments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, behavioral reports, and communication logs.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes literacy education, creative writing skills, and social‑emotional learning for all students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Valid teaching certification with endorsements in special education; experience working with children with disabilities is essential.
- Proven classroom experience managing diverse learners within a middle school setting.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development across multiple subjects.
- Expertise in behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies.
- Familiarity with IEP processes.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, staff members, and external specialists.
- Ability to proofread educational materials meticulously while maintaining high standards of clarity and accuracy.
